骑师 Jockey

速度赛马对骑手没有特殊的要求，体重越轻越好。大多数骑师把体重控制在50公斤左右，这样才能在52-62公斤负重范围内应付自如。

骑师很多时候会站着骑马，这是因为这种骑坐方式能够最大限度的不影响马的肌肉运动，加大马的步幅。

Speed racing requires no special skills for jockeys. But for the weight, the lighter the better. Most jockeys weigh around 50 kilograms, so that they can cope with the 52-62 kg load competitions at ease.

Jockeys often stand on the horseback while racing because this type of riding does not affect the muscles of the horse to their greatest extent and it can increase the pace of the horse.

挥鞭 Whip

在英国平地赛事中，骑师对赛驹仅可使用7鞭，在澳洲，最后100米前可用5鞭，而最后100米则没有限制，在香港，用鞭次数则没有明确限制。

In flat races of in the United Kingdom, the jockey can only use 7 whips for their horses. In Australia, 5 whips can be used before the last 100 meters, and there is no limit for the last 100 meters. In Hong Kong, there are no clear restrictions on the number of whips.

纯血马Thoroughbred Race Horse

纯血马以中短距离速度快称霸世界，马种起源于英国。它的体高1.57米至1.73米，躯体高大，四肢修长、健美，专门用于赛马或其他马术运动。

The typical Thoroughbred ranges from 15.2 to 17.0 hands (157 to 173 cm) high. Distinguishing features: tall, slim, athletic horse, used for racing and many equestrian sports.
